We'll coordinate with you and, if needed, your main photographer — agreeing on shot lists, timings, and who covers what. Simple and low-fuss.

We show up prepared

Quiet, professional, and focused on the shots that matter. We work in the background so you and your guests can enjoy the day naturally.

You receive your gallery

Edited images delivered via a private online gallery within the agreed timeframe. We won't disappear after the day is done.

We won't tell you we're the best photographers in Suffolk — that's not the point. The Quiet Lens was built around one straightforward idea: when you book a day as significant as your wedding or a big celebration, you deserve a photographer who will actually turn up, work hard, and treat your day with the same care they'd give their own.

Most of our bookings are evenings and weekends, which suits most weddings and celebrations perfectly. If you need us on a weekday, get in touch early — we'll do our best to make it work.

Frequently asked questions about backup & second wedding photography

Do you replace my main photographer?
Usually no — our role is to be your backup or second shooter, not to take over. If your main photographer cancels, we may be able to step into a lead role depending on the circumstances, your venue, and how much notice we have. We'll always be honest about whether that's something we can do well for your specific day.
What happens if my main photographer cancels?
Get in touch as soon as you find out. If we're your backup cover, we're already briefed on your day and can step up as the lead photographer if the situation and timing allow. If you're booking us after a cancellation, we'll assess the date, venue, and remaining time honestly and let you know what we can realistically offer.
How late can I book you?
For evenings and weekends, we can sometimes accommodate bookings at very short notice — even a few days ahead. Weekday daytime cover is different: that usually needs several weeks' notice to arrange. The earlier you reach out, the more options we have, but please do get in touch even if your date is close.
Do you cover venues outside Suffolk?
Our packages include travel within 30 miles of Ipswich, which covers a large part of Suffolk and into parts of Essex and Norfolk. For venues further afield, we can often travel — any additional mileage will be quoted transparently before you book, so there are no surprises.
How many photos will we receive?
It varies by package and the nature of your day. As a guide: Backup Cover delivers roughly 100–200 edited images on a half day, or 200–400 on a full day. Second Shooter typically produces 400–600 edited images. Events & Occasions ranges from around 60–100 images for a 2-hour block up to 200–300 for 6 hours. All images are edited before delivery — not raw files.
Will you coordinate with our main photographer?
Yes, and we actively encourage it. We'll work through timings, shot lists, and roles with you and your lead photographer before the day so everyone knows their brief. We're here to complement your main photographer, not step on their toes.
Are you insured?
Yes. The Quiet Lens carries full public liability insurance. If your venue requires proof of insurance before the event, just let us know and we'll supply the documentation you need.
Do you shoot weekday daytimes?
Evenings and weekends are our standard availability, which suits most weddings and celebrations. Weekday daytime cover is sometimes possible, but it usually requires several weeks' notice to arrange. If you have a weekday event in mind, get in touch early and we'll do our best to make it work.
